Neuromuscular Conditions

Patients may sometimes develop generalized or limb weakness which may be sudden (acute) or longstanding and progressive. The physical examination may suggest the peripheral nervous system as the source of the dysfunction and the peripheral nervous system comprises the nerve, muscle, and neuromuscular junction.

What You Need To Know

One of the most common conditions would be peripheral neuropathy which causes pain and abnormal sensation in the lower limbs. Other conditions which may manifest with weakness, can include Myasthenia Gravis. Other conditions would include conditions such as Motor Neuron Disease and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy to name a few.
